Arabian Knits

My name is Ranee Mueller and I am a knitter. My mother taught me when I was 9 or 10, though I don't remember ever finishing a project until I was in high school. I've mostly taught myself from books and trial and error since then. My main knitting interests are in traditional Arabic designs, mosaic knitting, vintage (1930s-1950s era) knitting and knitting for children. I have a list here of links to Arabic and vintage knitting websites, and will eventually get some of my own patterns uploaded.

I subscribe to a few knitting lists, the largest being the Knitlist. I also subscribe to Patterns of the Past, which focuses on vintage and historical knitting and NW Knitters, which is for knitters in the Pacific Northwest of the US. Just reading these groups and gleaning wisdom from other knitters and designers has improved my knitting immensely. It is to them that I owe my confidence and increased skill, not to mention bravery. Thank you!
